pprender_footprints - render a fixed panel of real footprint comparisons
pprender_footprints
[-o FILE] [--quiet]
pprender_footprints {--help|--version}
pprender_footprints renders a fixed panel of real KiCad footprint comparisons (see the FOOTPRINTS list in this script’s own source) as one SVG: every real pad drawn at its own real position, size, and shape, the courtyard outline (KiCad’s own "real keep-out size" layer), and an explicit millimeter scale bar so panels of very different physical sizes stay individually readable.
The footprint set is deliberately fixed, not a general-purpose input: this program exists as a direct visual companion to a specific, real footprint size comparison already discussed for this project’s own components. For any OTHER footprint, not just this fixed set, see ppfootprint(1) instead — the same real .kicad_mod loader this program itself uses underneath.
-o FILE, --output FILE
Write the panel SVG to FILE instead of the default, footprints_render.svg.
--version
Show this project’s own current version (read from VERSION) and exit.
--quiet
Suppress the final "wrote ..." confirmation line on success.

The panel was rendered and written successfully (individual footprints that fail to load are shown as an inline error message within the panel itself, not a program failure — see ppfootprint(1) to diagnose one directly). | ||
